Oracle: Way of the Seer

A seer is, first and foremost, always a “Seeker” – Stage One of the Voyager “Master Game of Life.” Knowing the truth of life is the seeker’s quest. Having seen the light, a seeker naturally becomes a seer.

From seeker to seer is a breakpoint, a pivotal maturation on the spiritual growth path. The seer in you has seen, indicating that you shine the light on your own life, with the courage to see the pure truth, the so-called “good, bad, ugly and beautiful.”

7bLike the archetypal wise Priestess, the seer sees the whole truth equally, with equanimity and equilibrium. It takes a committed and cultivated awareness, like a spiritual warrior to expose and reveal everything, demanding dedication to the path of realization and self-mastery.

Truth, truth, truth is all that matters on the “way of the seer.” Not always easy, and a bit tricky because the projections of our own ego do not want to be threatened by our own “shadow” or dark side. “Oh no,” screams the defensive ego, “I am light,” but the truth is that we cannot know the light without recognizing the dark. And on the flip side, we don’t see our own luminescence and radiance! “I am not that bright,” exclaims the self-effacing, socially conditioned ego.

Living in the gray of neither light nor dark is safe, socially acceptable, not challenging, comfortable, easy. The seer lives in the light of the fire… passionate, courageous, purifying! (TOWER XVI). Uncomfortable at times, inspired otherwise, destroyed and saved, warm and burned. The “way of the seer” is forged in a “cauldron of transformation,” an alchemical process of dissolution into resolution (see ART XIV) – disintegrating outworn self-beliefs, self-images, self-defenses, habitual behaviors, and becoming reintegrated into a transmuted self of healed strength and expansion. (The archetypal voyager of this change is represented by the cards Strength XII through the Tower XVI).

The seer is no longer blind in the dark and blinded to the light. The cold, dispassionate, detached, clear, objective Priestess truth-seer and truth- teller has only to acknowledge the truth. The ice of clarity is melted by the fire of the light - your awareness – which transforms dark into light and disengagement into full participation.

67bTo break free of the hold of the personal and socially acculturated, limited ego, the seer finds a vehicle of liberation. (See the Sage of Wands SEER). It may be meditation, yoga, gestalt, healing, aikido, therapy… any of the spiritual arts and psychologies. On this voyage, the ways and means is “READING THE CARDS” – the archetypal messages and symbols are revealed from the mystery and the great unconscious as a way of getting free of the projected personal ego.

Neuroscience of the brain has shown that so much of what we call “intuition” is in fact projection from the memory and the habitual known. Captured by what has worked in the past, we tend to stay within its secure confines. Picking cards face-down “busts” the ways we are used to seeing.

A seer will look and accept the truth of the cards, whether or not you like them or agree with them. This is the “practice,” the spiritual discipline to say yes to all facets of yourself and not just pick another card. Not to sugarcoat nor denigrate the truth. Not to deny, disguise, divert.

The seer sees the truth with the intention of letting that truth grow you. In the Way Of the Seer, insight is for growth, not for just any information. Look at yourself through the lens of information for transformation – fired up, with an in-spirited, enlivened desire to be more whole and en-lightened.

As a SEER, the dedicated learner SEEKER in you has recognized and accepted the mantle as a ” way shower.” The seer is a facilitator for other seekers to find their way. But a seer is only a seer, one who provokes insight and vision. It only takes a spark to illuminate and inspire another! You are a trail blazer, not all-seeing, all-powerful, all-knowing.

Seeing is only seeing, only partly the way to true being. In the “seeing” for others, the seer in you grows. Seeking never ends. Being an oracle for others is the seer’s spiritual practice. On the journey of life, a seer by virtue of sharing the wisdom, prepares for evolving into the next stages of life.

Proving adept on the SEER Stage 2 in the Voyager “master game of life,” a seer grows into Mentorship (Stage 3) and ultimately into Life Mastery (Stage 4).
